Mission Statement
The CMS Tier2 Center at The University of Florida supports the computational needs of scientific and academic communities in the US and across the globe. The UF facility, one of seven such facilities in the US, is part of the global computing fabric for the LHC experiments at CERN. The Tier2 Center is a founding member of the Open Science Grid, a distributed national computing facility providing resources for researchers in a number of disciplines in the sciences, engineering, medicine and humanities. The Tier2 facility is operated under the Institute for Particle Physics and Astrophysics (IHEPA) and consists of computational clusters, disk storage arrays and service nodes.
